What is pixeling?

Pixeling, tiling, and macroblocking are all common names for the distortion that occurs when the picture on digital channels freezes into individual squares or when sections of the screen appear dark and garbled. Audio is also affected. This is generally caused by a weak signal.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Check that all of your connections between the wall, the converter, and the TV are secure, particularly the coaxial connections.
  2. Replace the video cable you are using, if you have another available.
  3. If this permanently resolves the issue, it could be a problem with the original video cable. Otherwise, Contact Us for additional assistance.
