More About Voicemail Delivery as Text Message
- You can enter up to five mobile phone numbers to receive Voicemail as a text message.
- You can change your settings at any time:
- To leave a phone number in the system but turn off text message delivery to that number, clear the Include Transcription check box for that phone number.
- To remove a phone number completely, click
.
- To disable Voicemail delivery options at any time, select Off. Your existing settings are stored for future use.
- Most messages are delivered within one minute of the caller leaving a voice mail, but delivery of messages is dependent on your own mobile phone carrier.
- Deleting a message sent to your mobile phone by text message does not delete the message from your Voicemail. Conversely, if you delete a Voicemail, any text message remains until you delete it.
Did You Know?
- Transcriptions are fully automated, so they may not be perfect.
- Some mobile carriers only present the first 70 to 120 characters of the transcription. Others present the entire message split into multiple text messages.
- If you do not receive your Voicemail messages as text messages after setting up this option, ensure that your Voicemail inbox is not full. You can delete old Voicemail messages via your handset or online with My Services. If you are still not receiving your Voicemail as a text message, Contact Us, and provide the name of your carrier.
