Can I suspend my service?

With a seasonal plan, you can leave home for a long vacation or a seasonal stay at another location and keep your equipment at the home where you receive your services. When you return, you do not have to arrange a reconnection, and your services are still connected. There is a fee associated with this service.

You are eligible to be on the plan if you are away a minimum of two consecutive months and no longer than nine consecutive months. You can initiate a seasonal plan once per year.

There are two seasonal plans — Limited Functionality and Full Functionality. The Full Functionality plan can accommodate Spectrum Home Security or a third-party alarm system. Each plan applies to all the services to which you subscribe.

Limited Functionality

TV
  • You can access basic or limited basic tier channels and the on-screen Guide while in your home.
  • Your DVR schedule and recorded content are maintained.
  • On Demand and Pay Per View programming are not available.
  • You can use the Spectrum TV app and TV Everywhere apps.
Internet
  • You can use your email while away.
  • Spectrum-provided desktop security is not disabled.
  • Free use of Bright House Networks WiFi, BHN Secure WiFi, and Cable WiFi is suspended.
  • In-home WiFi is not available.
Voice
  • You keep the same phone number.
  • You can dial 611 to contact the Spectrum Support team or dial 911 in case of emergency.
  • You can receive inbound calls.
  • You can access your Voicemail.
Home Security Spectrum Home Security and third-party alarm systems work only with the Full Functionality plan.

 

Full Functionality

Service Availability
TV

For TV, both plans are the same:

  • You can access basic or limited basic tier channels and the on-screen Guide while in your home.
  • Your DVR schedule and recorded content are maintained.
  • On Demand and Pay Per View programming are not available.
  • You can use the Spectrum TV app and TV Everywhere apps.
Internet
  • You can use your email while away.
  • Spectrum-provided desktop security is not disabled.
  • Your current Internet speed is maintained, enabling your security system to remain active.
  • You can use Bright House Networks WiFi, BHN Secure WiFi, and Cable WiFi for free.
  • In-home WiFi is available.
Voice
  • You keep the same phone number.
  • You can dial 611 to contact the Spectrum Support team or dial 911 in case of emergency.
  • You can receive inbound calls.
  • You can access to your Voicemail.
  • You maintain unlimited local and long distance. International calling is disabled.
  • If you have more than one phone line, you can choose which line you want to be fully functional.
Home Security Spectrum Home Security and third-party alarm systems remain operational.

 

Things to Remember

  • Your account needs to be in a current status to be eligible. Any past-due charges should be paid before the account can be placed on the seasonal plan.
  • You need to provide a forwarding address, pay in advance, or use the recurring payment option.
  • EarthLink customers are eligible for the seasonal plan. If you have an EarthLink account, you must contact EarthLink directly if you want to continue to access your EarthLink email accounts while on a seasonal plan. EarthLink charges a separate fee for this access.
  • Once you choose an option for your seasonal plan, your account remains on that plan for the remainder of that seasonal term.
  • Service must be restored to the same address at the end of the seasonal plan.
  • Cable equipment, including coaxial cables, should remain connected while you are away.
