You will need the following equipment:

• An audio receiver or an audio/video receiver.
• External speakers. A common setup is at least five separate speakers plus a sub-woofer, known as 5.1 Surround Sound.
• A connection cable that can transmit Surround Sound from your Spectrum Receiver to the audio receiver, such as HDMI or digital audio cables.
