When I return from vacation, how do I cancel the auto-reply message?

If you activate an auto-reply message because you are unavailable to check your email for an extended period, you must cancel the feature when you are available to read your email once again. If you do not, the auto-reply message continues to be sent in response to all emails you receive.

To cancel an auto-reply message:

  1. In your Internet browser, enter https://mail.brighthouse.com, and complete the login process. The Inbox page opens.
  2. Click Settings. The Settings page opens.
  3. Under Customize mailbox options, click Vacation auto-reply preferences. The Vacation Message page opens.
  4. On the right side of the page under Message Rules, select Do not activate vacation message.
    • You can leave the message in the text field to use another time. As long as the Do not activate vacation message option is selected, the message is not sent in response to emails.
  5. Click OK.
