  3. Reinsert the battery.
  4. Plug the MTA back in, and wait for your MTA to initialize fully. That process should take about 5 minutes.
  5. Attempt to browse the Internet or make a phone call.

To reboot both a router and an MTA:

  2. Unplug the MTA power cord.
  3. Remove the battery from the Home Phone modem, and wait at least 15 seconds.
  4. Reinsert the battery.
  5. Plug the MTA back in, and wait for your MTA to initialize fully. That process should take about 5 minutes.
  6. Plug in the power to your router, and wait about 30 seconds to ensure that you have reestablished a connection.
  7. Attempt to browse the Internet or make a phone call.

If rebooting does not resolve your issue, you can try resetting the Home Phone modem, or MTA, but you should try to reboot it first.

To reset your Home Phone modem, or MTA:

  1. Locate the Reset button on the back of your modem.
    • The Reset button is very small and is recessed, so you need something such as a pencil, a paper clip, or a stylus to press it.
  2. Press the Reset button. Wait for the MTA to initialize fully. That process should take about 3 to 5 minutes.
