When I use my cable remote Mute button, why do I see the Mute icon on my TV screen but still hear the audio?

To correct this type of issue, try the following:

  • Reboot the Spectrum Receiver.
  • Reprogram your remote control.
  • If you are running the sound through another device such as an audio receiver, adjust the volume through that device.
  • Change the volume through your TV instead of through the Spectrum Receiver.
  • If you are using HDMI cables, you may need to replace them with a component cable.
