What is the difference between 3D and HD?

High Definition, Standard Definition, and 3D TV

High definition television (HD), offers video resolution that is substantially higher than traditional standard definition television. HD contains six times the picture information as standard definition TV. It relies heavily on digital compression techniques to send and store content.

3D TV is a feature you can enable on some newer HDTVs. 3D technology creates the illusion of three-dimensional video if the programming was created in 3D.
