How do I create an email?

To create an email:

  1. In your Internet browser, enter https://mail.brighthouse.com, and complete the login process. The Inbox page opens.
  2. Click Compose.
  3. In the To text box, enter the email address to which you are sending the email.
  4. In the Subject text box, enter the topic of your email.
  5. Write your email message in the large text box.
  6. When you are finished, click Send.

Email Options

  • You can send other files as attachments to your email. For more information, see How do I attach photos or other documents to an email using email?
  • On the Compose Message page, click Spell Check to check your email before you send it. For more information, see How do I use the Spell Check function in email?
  • On the Compose Message page, you can set the Priority of your email as Low, Normal, or High. When you send an email to another email user that is designated as Low or High, a corresponding icon is displayed in the left column in the recipient's Inbox. The icon is also displayed in your Sent Items folder.
  • For an email sent to another email address, you can select Request return receipt so that you receive a receipt email when the recipient opens your email.
  • Save a Copy is selected by default, ensuring that emails you send are saved to your Sent Mail folder.
