How do I connect my Xbox 360 gaming console to a wireless network?

To connect to a WiFi network:

  1. Plug the WiFi adapter into the Ethernet port on the back of your console.
    • The Xbox 360 S has a WiFi adapter built in, and does not need the adapter.
  2. Under My Xbox, scroll to and click System Settings.
  3. Select Network Settings from the list, and then click Configure Network.
  4. Click on the first block of information under the Basic Settings tab, and select Scan for Networks. A list of available networks is displayed.
  5. Select the desired WiFi network.
  6. If prompted, enter the WiFi password. Press Done to confirm.
  7. Press B to return to Network Settings. Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection to ensure the console is properly connected.

To find the wireless MAC address:

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, select System > Network Settings.
  2. Select Edit Settings > Additional Settings > Advanced Settings, then Wireless Information.
  3. The MAC Address is displayed on this screen.
