How do I connect my Lexmark printer to a Wireless network?

Lexmark wireless printers require setup to be completed while connected to the network with an Ethernet cable. Regular operation can be wireless after setup is complete.

To connect to a wireless network:

  1. Connect the printer to the router by Ethernet cable.
  2. Insert the Lexmark software CD into the computer and run the setup program.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the installation wizard and connect the wireless print server to the wireless network.
  4. Repeat the software installation on each printer that you will use to print to the Lexmark wireless printer.

If you have set your network security scheme to restrict device connections based on MAC Address, the following steps may help find the MAC address for your printer.

Finding the Wireless MAC Address

Examine the back of the printer.

  • A physical label is affixed containing information including the MAC address.
  • The MAC address is sometimes called a physical address.

To print a network setup page:

  2. Press Checkmark.
  3. Press the up or down arrow until Network Setup is highlighted.
  4. Press Checkmark.
  5. Highlight Print Network Setup Page. The MAC address is on this page.
  6. Press Checkmark to print the page.
