How do I check my IP address?

To check your IP address using Windows 10:

  1. From the Start menu, select Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window opens.
  2. Enter ipconfig, and press ENTER. Details about your IP configuration are displayed, including the IP address.

To check your IP address using Windows 8:

  1. On the Charms bar, click Search Button.
  2. In the Search text box, enter Command Prompt.
  3. Click Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window opens,
  4. Enter ipconfig, and press ENTER. In the Ethernet adapter Ethernet section, IPv4 Address is your computer’s IP address.

To check your IP address using Windows 7:

  1. From the Start menu, select All Programs, then select Accessories, and then select Command Prompt. The Command Prompt window opens.
  2. Enter ipconfig, and press ENTER. Details about your IP configuration are displayed, including the IP address.

To check your IP address using Mac OS Sierra, OSX El Capitan and OSX Yosemite:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Click Network.
  3. If you are connected to a network, the IP address is displayed in the Status section.

To check your IP address using the Mac 10.5 operating system:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Click Network. On the left side of the Network page, make sure that Ethernet Connected is selected.

  3. From the Configure drop-down list, select Using DHCP. The IP Address is displayed in the middle of the page.

To check your IP address using the Mac 10.1 to 10.4 operating system:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Click Network.
  3. From the Show drop-down list, select Built-In Ethernet.
  4. Click the TCP/IP tab.
  5. From the Configure drop-down list, select Using DHCP. The IP address is displayed in the IP Address text box below Configure.
